About Trilab

Trilab is an independent private company, established in 1994.  The Trilab name reflects the company’s position as Australia’s pre-eminent provider of Triaxial strength tests and other specialised soil and rock mechanics tests, and the company’s three major lines of service:

  • Soil mechanics testing
  • Rock mechanics testing
  • Calibration and instrumentation services

Trilab provides its technical assessment services to the Asia-Pacific mining, civil construction, and infrastructure industries.  Technical assessment of soil and rock characteristics is becoming a critical component to the design of large scale mining and infrastructure projects.  An appropriate analysis of the testing results that are produced by Trilab could result in significant benefits:

  • Less reliance on geotechnical assumptions, leading to more cost-effective engineering design
  • More accurate definition of geotechnical ground conditions
  • Reduced risk of underground mine collapse
  • Reduced risk of open cut mine pit-slope failure
  • Reduced risk associated with rock falls on road cuttings and other engineered slopes
  • Reduced mine construction and operational costs
  • Increased mine yield
  • Lower maintenance costs for roads, dams, bridges and other civil infrastructure

The company has a very strong track record in the delivery of an exceptional standard of service and gains the trust of its blue-chip client base via the provision of timely, accurate and value-for-money testing results from a highly-experienced work force.

Trilab’s Brisbane and Perth laboratories are registered with the National Association of Testing Authorities, Australia  (NATA) as accredited laboratories and are both Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestryquarantine approved premises.
